IVPF question

I am just wondering if this is a Canadian organization and if not are there different
reccomendations/standards in Canada??

Hi Christy!

There is not a separate Canadian vasa previa organization.  IVPF is made up of members from around the world, all speaking in one voice about what is and isn't vasa previa and working together to raise awareness about this condition and its management.  While the medical model of care may be different from country to country, vasa previa managment isn't.  Hence, we have members from all over the world working in IVPF committees to help us raise awareness everywhere.  Yes, different strategies may be necessary in different countries, which makes our international membership all that much more valuable.  Many of the obstetrical and ultrasound conferences our members attend are international ones.  Others are not and we've attended local conferences in Canada, the USA, the UK, Italy, and Australia.  IVPF also operates under a Board of Directors composed of members from several different countries.  Our Medical Advisory Board is organized the same way.

It may be important to note here that the IVPF grew out of an email list who's members were international and were determined to eliminate infant death from this heartbreaking condition.  The IVPF works with and funds any projects in any part of the world that it is determined will further the cause.
